Steven Gettis has an amazing collection of art by an incredible list of the top names in the art game and he's been pestering me for years to add my piece to the bunch. Honestly, it's always a bit intimidating to do a piece that will stand next to the artist he has. But he finally nailed me down when he sent me the entire collection of AKIRA books.

I was going to do an I AM LEGEND piece but decided at the last minute to switch up to LORD OF THE FLIES. It was a very fun piece to work on.

I'm reading this book right now in my class!
I must say, you did quite a good job on this. I love the colors and symbolism (Piggy's glasses, the blood which would be Piggy's... ~~mygoodnesspoorPiggy!~~). The lighting and dark overgrowth gives me a feeling of ominousness.

Hm, this must be Jack that you drew, correct? We're only on Chapter 5 right now, though I am completely aware of that boy's terrible and growing bloodlust...

Oh, but did you actually read Lord of the Flies? It's a very good read. I really do recommend it if you haven't.
